Agatha Christie adapted her short story "Traitor Hands" (first published in 1925), into the successful stage play "Witness for the Prosecution" in 1953.
SYNOPSIS
In this three-act courtroom drama, set in England, Leonard Vole is arrested for the murder of Emily French, an elderly woman of whom Leonard became a friend and, eventually, a beneficiary. With the evidence stacked against him, Leonard looks to his wife to testify in his behalf, only to discover that she's decided to act against him--as a witness for the prosecution.
