SYNOPSIS
This comedy by Ken Ludwig, the author of Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo (both of which were performed on PM&L's stage in Seasons 34 and 44, respectively), is set in 1958 in Pennsylvania and centers on English Shakespearean actors Jack and Leo, whose failing careers lead them to impersonate two long-lost nephews of a dying old woman so that they can inherit her multi-million-dollar fortune. To their surprise, however, they discover later that her heirs are, in fact, nieces, and so they must continue their charade in drag.

February 19 and 20

Stephen Sondheim's
Sunday in the Park with George

Auditions for this musical will focus on vocal talent, as all roles sing. Director Fran Jansta is looking to cast eight men, eight women, and a pre-teen girl. (See below.) He asks each auditioner to bring a vocal selection that best displays his/her vocal talents. (An accomplished accompanist will be available.) The auditioner may also be asked to read from the play’s script.

Auditions for the pre-teen female role will be held only on February 19 at 6:30 PM. Auditions for the rest of the cast will be held on both the 19th. and 20th. at 7:30 PM.

For the majority of those cast, vocal rehearsals will be held at least once per week for the first 6 to 8 weeks of the rehearsal schedule.

CHARACTERS
8 FEMALES, stage age 20+
1 FEMALE, pre-teen
8 MALES, stage age 20+

SYNOPSIS
Written by James Lapine, with music and lyrics by Sondheim, this musical is inspired by the famous pointillistic painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" by Georges-Pierre Seurat (1859-1891). The story centers on the French neo-impressionist as he immerses himself in the diligent creation of that iconic masterpiece.
